The cortisol piece is what got me. My doctor just kept saying "reduce stress" — never mentioned the gut connection. 5 weeks in and my sleep is genuinely different. Actually tired at night instead of wired at midnight. Cautiously optimistic.

Been on antidepressants 3 years. The "rationing serotonin" line hit because that's exactly what it feels like — taking the edge off but never fixing it.
